When I graduated college in 1989, one of the first things I did was to buy 4 suits and accessories from Anderson - Little in Syracuse NY. These articles of clothing stood the test of time and were durable, good looking and I only stopped wearing them because I grew out of them. I recently donated them to another college graduate, of my previous size, after having them dry cleaned. While doing a wiki search, I discovered this site much to my delight. Thank you for bringing back this brand, a true American treasure, in the Anderson - Little clothing line and best of luck to you in your endeavors !
I worked at Anderson little from 1981-83 in Norfolk, then Portsmouth VA ....Loved it! Excellent Men's ware. As we said in the 80's Dressed for Success. Keep the brand alive guys....an All American Treasure
Hello,
After 8 months of procrastination, I finally ordered 1 each of the blue & black blazers. I received the black one on Thursday and had the opportunity to wear it today for the first time. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the quality & fit of this fine American Made product. Unfortunately, I caught the jacket on a piece of metal and it made a large pull in the left arm. I am so upset and wonder if you folks do repairs? I am happy to pay for the repair along with the shipping costs. I just want to be able to proudly wear this jacket again. Please let me know if this is something that you could do. Thank You.
I still have many Anderson-Little coats and a few belts from the '60's. The quality was exceptional. I look forward to the reintroduction of Harris Tweed jackets which wear like steel.
I was looking for some nostalgia. So I entered Anderson Little into the search box thinking that I'd just find a little something within Wikipedia. But, WOW!!! to my great surprise and pleasure I find that the Company that I worked for in New Hartford, NY from Jan. '83 to Sept. '86 has actually been resurrected. Kudos to Mr. Anderson!!! Reading each one and all of the reviews was very rewarding, much like working there. It would be great to get this Company back to what it once was. It would be great to have a reunion with all of the workers. reading the reviews was something like that. Thanks Mr. Anderson and I do wish you and all nothing but the very best of success.
My mother Isabel (Bella) Machado, worked for your Grandfather and your Dad. She was so proud of her company, that is what she said all the time. She was a trimmer at Clothing Factor. She work there 31 years and was well treated.
When I was small, my Mom had to work but didn't have a babysitter after school. Well your Grandfather heard about this and stated that I could come to work and wait till my Mom shift was over. Sometimes I use to help there, like sharpening their pencils and put them in the drinking glass. Sometimes your family(Grandma) would get me juice and animal crackers. I did feel special. That is how your family was to all their employees.
Another story, my Mom was in her last year in High School and my Grandmother pull my mother out of school. She wanted to go to get her GED. She would study at lunch break. Well the Manager Teddy told your father about this and they paid for Mom books. She Graduate Night School that year. She was so happy and the workers did a party for her. If he wasn't for Your Grandfather and Dad, her dream would have not been completed.
My Dad had many suits, jackets, shirt and ties. My mother would not allow my Dad to wear anything else. I would say, Mom loves her Anderson. Dad use to say Bella keep them coming. He was always dress in style. When my Dad died at the age of 51, he was buried in one of his suits from your company. Mom said to all of family, he is in style going to Heaven. Yes he was the Anderson-Little spoke person. LOL
My mother gave all his suits and all his clothes to many men at the church. She use to say one day a week on Sunday all the men would look sharp,
My Mom retired from your company in 1970, and the Anderson-Little family and all the employee's gave her a party at the factory. Lot of many our family members were there. We had a wonderful time, and for two hours worked was stop to have this celebration. How I remember that special day for Mom. Bella died 6 years ago, and was buried with her Anderson-little pin of 25 years of that time. And also she wanted a tie from my Dad and you know where his clothes came from.
As you can see, my Mom was very happy working at your facility. And she was proud when people would ask where do you work. She stated I work at one of my homes - Anderson-Little Shop.
My Mom and Dad worked very hard, which I could go to private school and college. I think always how proud I am of my parents, and taught me to work hard and be happy where I work. That was very important to them.
I read the column in the Herald News from Kevin O'Connor and wrote a beautiful story of your family. As I stated before My mother love her job and had a good life.
So be proud of your family and work very hard like my Mom.
Sincerely,
Carol Ann Nogueira (Daughter of Isabel (Bella) Machado
Thanks to Anderson-Little in Fall River I was allowed as a young teenager to sell the " Worlds Finest Chocolate Bars" inside the first floor entrance, for my school St.Roch. They were .50 cents each but I would sell the chocolates 2 for a dollar. One of the salesmen stated that I should go into sales,I would be good. I won every year first place prizes, a bike, radio, ice cream certificates. I won every prize to the point that the fundraiser asked me what I would like . I stated that I wanted money to buy a guitar. I was given my wish. What a great time of my life. Thank you Anderson -Little for the memories ! Helene
I'm very pleased with my Anderson-Little blue blazer. The styling is classic, the material is strong and appropriate for all season wear, and the fit is true to size. I will be making future purchases here and recommending this company to colleagues.

I stumbled upon this website and decided to order a blue blazer after reading reviews. I have been looking for one to take on a cruise. It arrived yesterday and I must say I love it. Size is perfect which in itself is great considering how many jackets I have sent back to other companies. Quality is solid and it looks better on me then other jackets I have that I paid quite a bit more for. Wish they were also available in brown I would order another. This is a good buy! Thanks and please add me to your mail list if other clothing becomes available.

Every fella needs a blue blazer in his wardrobe and since it's an item that will get a lot of wear it's got to be built well and look great at all times. This blazer has an amazing fit right out of the box, the material feels great, the construction is solid and the price is nothing less than spectacular. It's also made in America, a luxury that is hard to come by these days. Treat yourself and order one, you've got nothing to lose but tons to gain.

I remembering buying a gray alpaca sport jacket years ago from your store at Westgate Mall in Brockton, Ma. Unfortunitly I out grew it and have looked for another to no avail. I want another, even 2 or 3 since it was the softest jacket I have ever found. Bring that sport coat back and that would be your money maker.

My first long term employment was with Wang and they sent me to training in Mass. many times. My one and only blue blazer was bought in 1981. It is a Shefford Anderson-Little. Unfortunately it's too small now, but I kept it because it's the highest quality and in perfect shape. I want to give it to a grandchild, and now that I discovered the rebirth of the company, I need to buy one. Thanks for representing American quality.
Glenn - Louisiana.
WOW!!! Glade to see your back. I worked for the A-L store in Lowell, Ma. some times covering in Methuen,MA and Nashua NH. during my Junior and Senior years of High school. Boy do I miss those years Anderson-Little was a great place to work.

Great blazer! Not being familiar with the history of Anderson-Little, I was just looking to buy American made. I'm very glad I did.
The fit is excellent, and I experienced perfect customer service. I will be buying a black one soon!
As a native Texan, I had never heard of the company, but really wanted to buy American.
I am really pleased with the jacket, and look forward to buying a black one soon. Customer service was top-notch!
I purchased a blue blazer last year to take on a cruise, and to have something to wear to work meetings. I couldn't be happier with the product. Mr. Anderson was very helpful in guiding me to the right size, and it has become one of my favorites. I just finished attending a conference, so I have been wearing the blazer quite a bit. It manages to look well tailored while still being comfortable, and is still ready to hit the town after a few days of sitting through flights, meetings, and workshops. It is an ideal "basic".

WOW!!!! How nice to see Anderson Little back. I remembered my first suit that we bought at the Anderson Little Store in Allston, MA. and many others later. Good to see the made in USA label.

Hi Deb..you wished to know who it was that sent in the review from the Lancaster, Pa store. It was me, Sally Breen Vincent.

I love the simplicity and durability of this classic staple in every man's wardrobe. Anderson-Little nailed it. Plus, I talked with the Scott Anderson himself when I called about my jacket. What other CEOs have you talked to about the item you are wearing?
Stuart, I'm not sure if you will remember me but you made me the(opening) manager of the Woonsocket, R.I. store. It was a great company, I could tell you what your dad did for me,some other time. I was the LAST Dist Manager and had the misfortune of closing the stores. Last one Fall River, now a resturant. Wish YOU are your family the best. Regards, Ray
When I was in high school I worked at the Lincoln Plaza, Worcester MA Anderson-Little store. Also worked at the store in Auburn MA as well as a store in Hadley, MA when in college. Those jobs helped fund my college tuition.
I still remember how to make the alteration marks on a suit so that the tailor can properly alter the suit.
All the people who worked at the store, employees and managers were very classy and great to work with.
I hope you can resurrect the brand.
Mike
Blazer arrived a week after my order was placed. I couldn't have asked for a better fit and overall experience shopping online. Great look - purchased the silver buttons - and a great value. Made in America - can't beat it. If and when you start producing other styles, I will be back.

I ordered a blazer in March. One day after I placed my order Mr. Anderson himself called me because he wanted to suggest I order one size up. Of course he was right. This is nothing less than amazing. I dont get personal attention like this in a store, let alone on line. The owner of the company called me to make sure I was getting the best fitting jacket I could get.
Oh, and by the way...the jacket is beautiful, well made...and fits me as if tailor made. I wish you nothing but success -- you deserve it.
Mo
I love it! Simple, sophisticated, well-crafted. I feel I'll have it for years!
Thanks!
John
Received the jacket and just love it - exactly what I was looking for in a blazer.
Joseph
I love the jacket! I got it just after lunch and have been wearing for few hours. It fits like a good pair of gloves and no wrinkles. Just wow. What a fantastic jacket.
I want to order another one for my father. Can I pay extra to be shipped as an express mail? He will be visiting me from Korea next week and I want him to go home with a new AL jacket.
Thanks,
Joon
I WORKED FOR ANDERSON LITTLE IN NASHUA NH AND LANCASTER PA.I LOVED THE STORE FOR THE GREAT CLOTHING AND WORKING FOR A GREAT COMPANY . I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED WHEN THEY CLOSED THERE DOORS HOW NICE WOULD IT BE TO SEE THEM COME BACK AGAIN.I DID SEE THAT SOMEONE WROTE IN SAYING THEY WORKED IN LANCASTER PA BUT NO NAME IF YOU COME BACK ON HERE I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHO YOU WERE.

I was employed by Anderson-Little in the Lancaster, Pa store for twenty years. There is not a day that goes by that I don't use something that I was taught during my tenure. I am a Customer Service Manager now and always teach my new employees the respect and kindness that was shown to me by extremely knowledgeable people when I was starting out.
So many times I have heard "I miss Anderson-Little". Thank you for everything and much luck in all you do.
502 Bedford Street... Remember it well. I worked for the company for 18 years until I closed up the store at Echelon Mall. In peak years we sold up to 700 suits per week and toward the end it trickled down to less then 50. When I started in '74 we were clearing out the leisure suits at $17.50 with free alterations. That was when polyester was king. You were only cool if you had a PVC jacket.
Gene
Dear Geneva
The embassy square line of clothing started back in 1990 and lasted until the company closed in February of 98. The embassy square was the top of the line suit for Anderson-Little. I still have all my embassy square suits and most are in perfect condition.

At last, it is back! we have been waiting for this to happen for some time now! every closet needs the basic BLUE BLAZER! having grown-up in New England it was a wardrobe staple!

During high school I worked at the Meriden (downtown Meriden Mall) Anderson-Little for 2 years from 1970-1972, my first real job. I have the fondest memories of the store and my co-workers. It was like a family and we all had a great time. Anderson-Little suits and sport coats were the very best quality and we had a great tailor, Angelo, who would do the work on-site. I remember the trucks coming in daily from the Fall River plant and rushing to load/unload the alterations and the new merchandise. I remember the great Harris Tweed sport coats. I wish I still had one. We used to be so busy. The place used to really jump. There has never been another store that can compete on quality and price. The quality was really fine, in spite of the reputation as a discount store. I have bought a lot of Brooks Brothers etc. and they can't even come close.

I am from Geneva, New York (Upstate, NY) I am 37 years old and when I was younger I remember shopping at a local mall where there was an Anderson-Little men's store. My dad, who was a school teacher, always liked to buy Anderson-Little. Some of his clothing from Anderson-Little still hangs in his closet. He passed away last August. I was recently in a thrift store and purchased an Anderson-Little suit in a perfect condition. There were three others with the Anderson-Little label with the name "Embassy Suits by Anderson-Little" I was wondering how old they might be? Anyway, I am glad to see Anderson-Little is making a comeback. I wish you the best of luck and much success. Congratulations!
Joseph M. Midiri
Good luck to you. I hope Anderson - Little becomes what it once was and closes down the Mens Wearhouse. I am a former manager for Anderson- Little having worked there from 86 to 98. I still wear suits but they're not the same quality as an Anderson -Little suit.
Dave
My best friend, Richard Parker,
was the manager of the Fall River home store. My business was two blocks away. I still own and wear 14 Anderson Little suits on a daily basis.
They are in style and look like new.
GLAD YOUR BACK!
Paul Cantin
Just heard that you are selling on-line. Congratulations! We missed buying your clothing - originally in Woonsocket, RI.
Wishing you much success!
- Rod & Donna Pratte
I was employed by the company for six years starting in 1958. For two years I worked in Fall River, mostly on the 6th floor sorting and pricing clothing in the summer while in high school. I also met the alterations trucks at the loading dock.
After high school graduation I went to college in Providence and worked in the Providence store selling women's and children's clothing, going back to Fall River in the summers. Upon graduation I was offered a full time position with the company, but turned it down for a lower paying teaching position. I spent 40 years in public education and retired five years ago as a superintendent.
In any event, the discipline I learned working for the company has served me well.

I found your ad in todays Boston Globe. I was a customer at the Liberty Mall Store many years ago. Still wearing my tan suit and blue shorts.

I remembered Anderson-Little from when I lived up North, so I decided to get a jacket as a birthday gift for a friend. My boyfriend liked it so much, we bought one for him.
When I had a question and called, Mr. Anderson actually helped me himself. That really surprised me.
--Lynda in Naples
For that price I didn't know what to expect but I thought I'd take a chance. The photos on the website looked good but when it got here it was a really nice jacket. I love it.
It got here quick. It comes in this really cool box which must be specially designed because it doesn't wrinkle during shipment.
Turns out my wife knows Anderson-Little. She's from New England. I never heard of them, but I have now.

Received the replacement (one size up), and it fits Jim wonderfully !! Nice cut and fit, just looks great and hangs very nicely on him.
Thank you once again for exchanging the size, and for your great (and concerned) customer service. Have a wonderful day!! The Mrs. ;-)
